PREM Group wins HR Champion Award for Corporate Social Responsibility

It is with great pleasure that we announce our Human Resources department recently scooped up the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the HR Champion Awards, this event took place at the Guinness Storehouse on the Friday the 23rd of March 2018.

It goes without saying that we’re immensely proud and grateful for all the hard work the HR team commit to PREM Group every day, and it’s great to see this recognised on a national level.

Corporate Social Responsibility is defined as ‘the responsibility of enterprises for their impacts on society’ and at PREM Group we understand the importance of this as a leading hospitality group.

We were awarded this honour based on our work with the charity Mecpaths. Mecpaths is a charity that collaborates with the hospitality sector in Ireland to raise awareness around sex trafficking and empower hotel management and staff to help prevent this crime.

Our senior management were first introduced to this charity in 2017 via the Irish Hotel Federation and were shocked at the statistics. Our HR Manager Sarah Marr knew we had to do something to do something to help.

Using our inhouse e-learning platform Eureka, we developed a course to raise awareness, draw attention to the signs of, and provide clear guidelines on the reporting structure should indicators of human sex trafficking be identified. On PREM’s part we hope that this on-line training course is the one programme our employees will never have to put to use in the workplace.

However, we know if everyone in hospitality in Ireland was aware of the signs to look for it would become increasingly difficult for the perpetrators of sex trafficking to practice their crime in this country and we could play our very small part in trying to dismantle the global multi billion dollar human sex trafficking industry.
