April 22nd marks Earth Day 2023, an annual global event supporting environmental protection.

We are celebrating our recent accreditation with Green Tourism across our Irish and UK properties including PREMIER SUITES UK and Ireland (11 properties), Leopold Hotel Sheffield, Aspect Hotel Park West, Cahernane House Hotel, Osprey Hotel, The Hoban Hotel and Viking Hotel Waterford.

Green Tourism operate a globally recognised certification programme which audits the commitment of tourism businesses who are actively working to become more sustainable. Their environmental assessors give professional advice and guidance on areas such as:

  • Reducing energy use.

  • Saving water.

  • Efficient & eco-friendly waste disposal.

  • Ethical buying.

  • Staying local & seasonal.

  • Minimising food miles.

  • Promoting biodiversity.

  • Adopting a smart, sustainable outlook from top to bottom.

Continental Europe: Green Key

Properties in Continental Europe joined Green Key, a “leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. This prestigious certificate represents a commitment by businesses that their premises adhere to the strict criteria set by the Foundation for Environmental Education. A Green Key assures guests that, by choosing to stay with a Green Key establishment, they are helping make a difference for the environment.”
